About Amy

Amy Bartley Eating Disorder Trauma Therapist

Amy Bartley MS, LPC, EMDR Trained, SEP

My name is Amy, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Dallas, Texas. I specialize in helping individuals heal from eating disorders, trauma, and attachment-related struggles. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply unsure of where to begin, please know you’re not alone — and you’re in the right place.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University–Commerce. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in community mental health settings, specialized eating disorder treatment programs, and private practice. Each of these experiences has deepened my commitment to compassionate, trauma-informed care.

My therapeutic work centers around:

  • Eating disorders and disordered eating

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Attachment wounds and relationship patterns

I integrate a relational, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approach, creating a space where you can feel truly seen, supported, and safe. I believe healing happens in the context of a trusting therapeutic relationship — one built on empathy, acceptance, and respect.

I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Ego State Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing — powerful, evidence-based modalities that support deep healing from trauma and nervous system dysregulation. My goal is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner strength, gain insight, and reclaim a sense of wholeness and empowerment.

Outside of the therapy room, you can usually find me spending time with my husband and our two rescue dogs. I love exploring Dallas neighborhoods, trying new restaurants, traveling, reading, and going for long walks.

If you're looking for a Dallas therapist who specializes in eating disorders, trauma, and attachment healing, I’d be honored to support you on your journey. Reach out today to schedule a free consultation or learn more about how I can help.
